| I am Moti lalwani, born on 26th January 1969 at a small village in Sindh. I passed my masters (M.F.A) in 1996, from the University Of Sindh at Jamshoro, Hyderabad Sindh. I started my career as a sculptor and painter and completed many projects. |

I had to migrate from Hyderabad Sindh to Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India in November 2000. I had to leave all of my friends, relations and contacts back. I was complete alone and new in the city. I had to earn for living of my whole family. I could not start my artistic work at the time again, so I joined an export company, as an artist and accessory designer. While working I come in to contact with the best artisans and craftsmen of the Handicraft industry. Because of my education and prior training I could understand the very sensibilities and sophistications of the design matters, mediums (Metals specially Sheet Metal) and its possibilities, attributes like malleability etc. I along with the expert artisans explore the different techniques and methods in order to model the animal and bird sculptures from Sheet metal; it is too difficult to model the details of a sculpture from the back side by hammering and embossing, while keeping control and use of the shifting and starching of the sheet metal. |

I gathered Artisans as Blacksmiths, Woodcarvers, carpenters and Painters, along with me, and stared my own studio (STUDIOIRON) in March, 2006. I design, experiment, and develop items at my studio and get them finished as I like. I only control the function and aesthetic values of the items; rest of the work is done by the Artisans. When ever they want to create some thing new by their self, they are free to do what ever they like. Some time they create very fantastic items, very strong in aesthetic values, and attributes. Some time I think and plain to develop any good item, but could not. It is all the way, way of life, we all want to make life beautiful; we all want to add some thing new to the life. Some time we create some thing satisfactory, some time…….!
